Abstract

The international trade of African regional communities has long been the subject of multilateral policy debates but has not yet been thoroughly analysed by researchers. There are numerous studies on regional integration in different parts of the world, as well as concrete examples in this regard, but in Africa it is too rich in complexity and particularities. In order to answer the question of whether conventional theories are applicable when it comes to the integration of African regional integration communities (RICs), the achievements of economic theory must be considered. This is what gives the book International Trade of African Regional Integration Communities (edited by Dr. Edward Marinov of the Institute of International Integration at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) its exceptional relevance. It should be noted that his study is the first one conducted by a Bulgarian author on this issue in the last decades.
