Abstract

The first national conference on political economy was held in 2007 at the University of Economics - Varna, and the second - in 2013 at the UNWE-Sofia. The third conference (29-30 September 2016) took place at the Angel Kanchev University in Rousse and was organized by the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Business and Management on the topic "Political Economy in Bulgaria at the Beginning of the 21st Century" with an emphasis on the search for the development of political economy in the country now and in the future. The work took place in a plenary session and two breakout sessions, which were attended by scholars from seven Bulgarian higher education institutions (including the three economics universities) and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
